Adwords: PPC Advertising

PPC stands for “Pay Per Click” and refers to a type of advertising where you create adverts which are shown when a user searches for a particular keyword on a search engine such as Google.  You set an amount of money you are prepared to pay each time someone clicks on one of your adverts.  Your ‘cost per click’ can be as low as 4p and if nobody clicks, you don’t pay a penny.

Here is a PDF about Google Ads (692K - will open in a new window).

Google Ads has a one-off activation fee of £5.  After that, there is NO minimum spend and you can stop your advertising campaign at any time.  You can even do a ‘test campaign’ with a budget of just £1 a day!

To give you an idea of the potential of pay per click advertising:

If you have an advertising budget of £1000 and a cost-per-click of £1, that means you are guaranteed to receive at least 1000 targeted clicks through to your website.  Now, if 10% of these clicks turn into sales, you’ll have made 100 sales.  If your average sale amount is £100 then your £1000 advertising investment will have turned into £10,000 of sales.

  • I offer Google Ads account management as a service.  For £60 per month (+ click costs, paid directly to Google) I’ll create and optimise your campaign, performing keyword research and wording your adverts to help you get the best return on your advertising investment with regular reports.

After I’ve received your payment, I’ll get in touch to discuss details of your existing Adwords account or to help you create a new one. We’ll discuss your budget and aims, ending with a written proposal which I’ll send to you before we get started.  The “month” will begin from the launch of your first campaign.
